CAPTIVATE KIDS IN THE CLASSROOM TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE THEIR VERY BEST
THAT ONE SPECIAL TEACHER WE REMEMBER
Most, if not all adults remember a particular teacher from their school years: one that really stood out. That one teacher made all the difference in their lives. They will remember this person and talk about them for the rest of their days. Perhaps this teacher is credited with helping them to embark upon a certain path in life and to accomplish great things. Do you remember a special teacher in your life?
What made that one person so special?
It certainly wasn't the subjects they taught or the information they shared. They had special qualities that made you sit up and pay attention and somehow you remembered what they taught. They were passionate, empathetic and were able to bring their words to life and to plant seeds that took root and began to grow. Perhaps they had a great sense of humor or they were able to present their subjects in unique and interesting ways. Or maybe, it was a combination of different factors. Have you ever given it any thought?
The planted seeds will continue to grow!
I remember a Science teacher who would stand on his desk brandishing his cane with dramatic flair. An English teacher who was able to tell a story in such a way her students were spellbound. I don't think I would ever have understood Shakespeare had it not been for her inspired reading. She was a trained opera singer and the cadence and tone of her voice was mesmerizing. I remember more but there was one who really stood out, a truly Captivating teacher, and I believe that she is the reason that I'm so passionate about what I do today.
