ABOUT YOUR COACH
Daniel Mentz was born and raised in Germany. He came to the United States in 2009 and studied all aspects of Acting & Performance for many years at the Promenade Conservatory in Santa Monica, CA. Daniel has also been personally coached and mentored by Chanti Niven, creator and founder of The Captivating Speakers Program and is an accredited Captivating Speaker and Trainer.
Through his studies in Acting, Improv Comedy became one of his favorite subjects and he went on to perform in many live shows and was even invited to join a professional group from the famous Comedy school “Groundlings.”
When Daniel joined Toastmasters in 2013, he quickly realized that his skills in Improv Comedy would be extremely valuable to public speaking. Not only was it easier for him to present in front of crowds, but the natural sense for Comedy and Performance he had acquired through his training served him well to break the ice, connect with people, read their body language, be creative, present in the moment and excel at impromptu speaking, among many more benefits. Daniel has serevd as the Vice President of Education for Captivating Toastmasters and was nominated for President but is currently producing and directing a full length feature film and turned down the nomination with regret. He still runs our Comedy Improv classes.
